Plasmodium Nucleic Acid Detection Solution- Anitoa

What is Plasmodium?

Plasmodium, the sporozoan transmitted by Anopheles mosquitoes, is the causative agent of malaria. The clinical symptoms of malaria mainly manifest as generalized chills, fever, and excessive sweating, with periodic regular episodes, which can cause anemia and splenomegaly after many long-term episodes, and is one of the diseases with the highest morbidity and mortality rates of insect-borne infectious diseases. Malaria is one of the diseases that seriously endanger human health. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), there are still more than 90 countries in the world where malaria is endemic, with 300 million to 500 million cases and 1 million to 2 million deaths per year worldwide, of which more than 80 % of the cases occur in Africa.

Plasmodium qPCR Detection

Anitoa's rapid and portable Plasmodium detection solution has the advantages of fast detection speed, accurate test results and simple operation. It mainly consists of a fully automated nucleic acid extraction and purification instrument with supporting reagents, Maverick qPCR and Plasmodium qPCR test kits.

Workflow

1. Sample Collection

2. Nucleic Acid Extraction

3. PCR Amplification

4. Report Output

Advantages

Safety: automatic nucleic acid purification solution, free users' hands, fast and simple.

Fast: the rapid portable Maverick qPCR instrument is used for fast detection, and the malaria PCR test can be completed in about 40 min.

Accuracy: the qPCR technology, which is the gold standard for nucleic acid detection, is highly sensitive compared to antigen detection and isothermal detection, and greatly reduces false positive and false negative results like those seen with antigen detection.

Flexible: For scenarios where the demand for on-site inspection is relatively high, multiple instruments can be used to work simultaneously. For example, a scene with a daily detection volume of about 2000 can be equipped with 10 instruments. The flexible configuration of multiple small throughput instruments work to avoid problems such as failures encountered when working with large throughput instruments.
